Raymond F. Stauffer, 93, ended his earthly stay at his home in Barto, PA on Thursday, January 13, 2011. He was 93.

He was born on May 17, 1917, the son of the late Marvin and Genevieve Stauffer.

Surviving are his children Andrew with wife Patricia Stauffer of Pennsburg, PA, Christina Marks of Bally, PA and Mary Ann wife of Arnold Slonaker of Hereford, PA; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters.

He is predeceased by his wife Margaret (Noel) Stauffer; a brother; and two sisters.

Raymond was a lifetime fruit grower and Zern’s Market vendor. Raymond was an avid hunter who enjoyed his hunting camp on Duck Harbor Pond, Wayne County, PA. He was also a charter member of Bally Sportsmen’s Association; a member of the NRA; and the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally.

Services were held Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., Boyertown, PA.

Burial was at Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery, Bally.

Clyde Albert Stegner Sr. of Honesdale, PA died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. He was 85.

Born July 7, 1925 in Honesdale, he is the last surviving member of the James G. and Elsie London Stegner family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Augusta M. Hopkins. The couple married May 3, 1947.

Clyde was a welder for Erie Railroad. He retired from Conrail in 1990. In 1942 he survived the flood in Honesdale. While stuck in a tree he was able to reach down and rescue Ray Canfield from drowning. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of Baer’s Drill Team. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Also surviving is son Clyde A. Stegner Jr. and wife Tammy of Beach Lake, PA; daughter Bonnie Walsh of Honesdale; grandchildren Sarah and Joey Walsh and Clyde A. III and Augusta May Stegner; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by sisters Alice Wood and Dorothy Stegner; half brothers Jess, Harold, Lloyd, William and Walter Gibbs; and half sisters Nettie Reigler, Ethel Bidwell, Mabel Nestico and Ellen Hiller.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 14 at Hessling Funeral Home, Honesdale, with Rev. Bill Frisk officiating. Interment followed in Indian Orchard Cemetery.

Florence Marjorie Baum of Sparta, TN and formerly of Jeffersonville, NY and Homestead, FL, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 at NHC of Sparta. She was 89.

The daughter of the late Lester and Marion Fraser Simonson Sr., she was born January 23, 1921 in Camden, NJ.

Mrs. Baum was a full-time homemaker and mom but also worked at Sullivan’s Department Store in Liberty, and later at the Senior Citizens Center in Homestead.

She is survived by her children Janet Klein of Sparta, Edward Baum Jr. of Miami, FL, Russell Baum of Rock Island, TN, Terry Lynn Baum of Quebeck, TN and Cheryl Baum of Youngsville, NY; brother Lester Simonson Jr. of Jeffersonville; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at Hunter Funeral Home, Sparta, TN.
