Robert Dunn Sr.

April 29, 2016

Sullivan County Court Judge Frank J Labuda has sentenced Robert Dunn Sr., 42 of Fallsburg to 3 years in State Prison and 15 years of post release supervision. Dunn who is a convicted level 2 sex offender previously pled guilty to the felonies of failing to register his Facebook account and disseminating indecent materials to a minor. Dunn had faced a maximum of 4 years in jail.

Robert Dunn was arrested last May when he went to a residence on Emily Street, in the Village of Monticello, to meet a 15 year old boy that he had solicited for sex on Facebook. What Dunn did not know at the time was that the 15 year old boy he was communicating with on the internet was actually an undercover deputy sheriff.

Sheriff Mike Schiff praised Sergeant Blake Starner, the lead investigator on this case, for his hard work and dedication in getting this sex offender off the street. The Sheriff also thanked District Attorney Jim Farrell for his vigorous prosecution which resulted in an appropriate state prison sentence.
