Lake Huntington News

By Eileen Hennessy

What a weekend! I was down in Queens for a family friend’s wedding—eight hours, so much food.

I am too old for this kind of partying, but I love to dance. So I had a great time, but afterwards my hips and back were not too happy with me. I wish I could do that kind of dancing every day; I am going to have to try 15 minutes a day of dancing. That would be good for me. On my way down on Friday, I stopped to see Fr. Bill. He is doing well and sends his love and prayers to all.

On Tuesday, November 8, it is Election Day, and you should get out and vote. Why cook? The Cochecton Republican Club members are selling tickets for their annual Election Day chicken barbeque. Takeout costs only $10 each, and pick-up will be at Gasko and Meyers’ parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m. Call Ed Grund at 845/252-7363 for tickets.

On Saturday, November 12 and 19, Heinle’s General Store will be serving authentic fondue; more information to follow.

The Cochecton Youth Group would like to thank the kids and families who came out to the tricky trunk and made it a great success. The raffle ticket winners were pulled and will be notified by phone.

The Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian Church of Lake Huntington thanks everyone who donated, helped us the day of the social and all those who attended to make our penny social a success. Without all of you, they wouldn’t have been able to do it. Thanks again. I was there dropping off stuff, and let me tell you, these ladies work hard.

The Lake Huntington Fire Company is selling tickets for its New Year’s Day chicken barbeque; ask any of the firefighters and they can hook you up, or call RuthAnn at 845/932-8514. It is takeout only, costs $10 each and runs from 3 p.m. until sold out.

Keep smiling and have a great week. Email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
